SIR OPENS NEW EVENT VENUE
New York, NY, November 16, 2009 – Music industry leader SIR Entertainment Services formally opened the doors of their new Manhattan event and performance space, SIR Stage37, with a grand opening celebration. Guests from the music, fashion and event industries were treated to an open house with live music and special celebrity appearances, plus giveaways of Fender and Paul Reed Smith guitars and other surprises. Earlier that same evening, BizBash, a top resource for event planners nationwide, also held its annual award show celebration toast at Stage37.

Located just a block from the Javits Center, SIR Stage37 features an open, blank slate space that can be adapted for any event situation. The main event hall is 8500 square feet with 26' ceilings supported by minimal columns with 50' spacing, a rarity in midtown Manhattan.

SIR Stage37 also offers an 1100 square foot mezzanine that overlooks the main space, a large lobby, contemporary luxury restrooms and additional space for production, storage, rehearsals, and more.

“We are thrilled to open SIR Stage37 and are proud to make it available to the entertainment and events community,” commented Bo Holst, a partner in SIR Entertainment Services. “We’ve already hosted events for major corporations for product launches, international meetings, fashion events, parties, and more. Plus, we are strategically situated to easily accommodate businesses that need space near the convention center.”

SIR Stage37 is the newest space to join SIR Entertainment Services’ roster of national facilities. With its main business consisting of rehearsal space and musical instrument, audio and backline rentals for the world’s top recording artists, SIR Entertainment Services is uniquely positioned to provide production assistance and event resources.

"THIS IS IT" TOPS CHARTS WITH 101 MILLION WORLDWIDE
By DAVID GERMAIN, AP Movie Writer – 2 hrs 31 mins ago LOS ANGELES – "Michael Jackson's This Is It" pulled in $101 million worldwide in its first five days, and distributor Sony is extending the farewell performance film beyond its planned two-week run. The film was the No. 1 Halloween thriller domestically with a $21.3 million opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

"This Is It" raised its domestic total to $32.5 million. The movie pulled in $68.5 million overseas, including $10.4 million in Japan, $6.3 million in Germany, $5.8 million in France and $3.2 million in China. "He's just loved everywhere on the planet," said Rory Bruer, head of distribution for Sony. "It doesn't matter if it's Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, South America. Every continent in the world loved him and his music."

"This Is It" captures Jackson in behind-the-scenes performances in the weeks before his death last June, as he rehearsed his biggest hits for the London shows. "This Is It" originally was scheduled for a theatrical run of only two weeks. The studio has extended it a few more weeks domestically, leaving it in theaters through Thanksgiving weekend, one of the year's busiest moviegoing times.

ANALOGUETUBE RECREATES THE FAIRCHILD 670
The AT-101 is a faithful recreation of the original Fairchild 670 stereo limiter. The AT-101 is built using traditional point-to-point wiring methods and standard turret component mounts. The audio path and power supply are completely free from any printed circuit boards. The AT-101 like the original Fairchild 670 has been assembled completely by hand and uses high quality modern components. The tube complement is exactly the same, using a new generation 6386 remote cut-off triode developed to replace the original 50 year old tube types many of which were used in the Fairchild 670. Whilst most of the AT-101 is the same as the original there have been a few minor changes to the front panel and electronics, the Lateral/Vertical switch has been replaced with a Stereo Link switch, and a power supply alteration made allowing controlled heater voltage switch-on to help maintain the life of critical tubes on power up. A simple electronic traffic light system monitoring temperature has been added...(For more information click here)

ROCKETT PEDALS ALSO INTRODUCES THE LEMON AID.
"The Lemon Aid was the most difficult pedal to name due to its versatility. It is a boost pedal in essence but it also acts as a sort of preamp or frequency modifier. This pedal offers a clean, treble and full boost all in one. However, each boost position is adjustable in several aspects. You can make any one of the desired boost settings either thicker or thinner or you can cut the overall output to make the effect more subtle. The combinations of all of the available settings give you a myriad of boosts and frequency modifications. We love to use it as a lead boost for any overdrive but on its own you can achieve the most lush and beautiful clean tones that sustain incredibly well. You can also run the pedal on its loudest setting and slam the front end of your amp for natural crunchy tones. The Lemon Aid works equally well as a bass boost and an acoustic guitar preamp…..this pedal will honestly improve the tones of every other overdrive pedal on your board. DAMAGES OF $1.9 MILLION COULD BACKFIRE ON MUSIC INDUSTRY
LOS ANGELES (Billboard) – The recording industry secured a resounding victory last week when a Minneapolis jury awarded the four major labels $1.92 million in damages after unanimously finding that a 32-year-old mother had willfully infringed on their copyrights by downloading and sharing 24 songs on the Kazaa peer-to-peer network.
But a question arose after the verdict...(Click here for full story)
